Regional Accrediting Organizations

The six regional accrediting organizations in the United Sates recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

• Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools serves Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands.
   
• New England Association of Schools and Colleges serves Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont
   
• North Central Association of Colleges and Schools serves Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, New Mexico, South Dakota, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

• Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities serves Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington.

• Southern Association of Colleges and Schools serves Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

• Western Association of Schools and Colleges  serves California, Hawaii, the Territories of Guam and American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands
